A true local native, Vinny Ku once embodied the quintessential New York City charm and charisma. However, having spent the last eight years living outside of NY, Vinny has picked up a few bad habits such as good manners, fondness for country music, and a peculiar fascination with porch swings.
Vinny first discovered CrossFit back in 2007 when he was invited to try a little workout called “Fight Gone Bad.” Seventeen minutes later, Vinny was lying on the floor, gasping for air, and addicted - addicted to the cult of CrossFit.
In the subsequent years, Vinny traveled the States and lived in places such as Miami, FL, Quantico, VA, Newport, RI, and Jacksonville, NC (and traveled frequently to San Diego, CA for work).
Although Vinny doesn’t have quite as vivid of an imagination as Ron to make up so many certifications and qualifications, Vinny’s travels have afforded him the opportunity to learn from a variety of different athletes and coaches. Because of his diverse experience, Vinny is able to utilize and employ alternative and creative methods to the advantage of the other members in the gym.
You will often find Vinny’s dog, Kanga, by his side (or begging other members for scratches) at the gym. If you bring a treat for Kanga, Vinny promises you one less burpee during his next warm up sesh!
